History of the Donair

A variation of a doner. In the early 1970's a certain genius substituted beef for lamb and a sweet sauce instead of the doner's usual garlic sauce, and made what is the most marvellous culinary creation of all time - in our opinion. Since the 70's, the Nova Scotia or Halifax Donair has proliferated, with thousands consumed daily across the province. Soothing the stomachs, hearts and souls of the hungry and hungover.
